Skydive in FOZ

SkydiveFoz offers tandem jumping. This type of jump makes it possible for one to feel the excitement of free falling while latched to one of our instructors. The tandem jump is the first step in our skydiving course.

The standard tandem jump is performed at a 10 thousand foot altitude. It takes 15 minutes to reach the skydiving altitude, after leaving the airplane; there are 30 seconds of free falling and after that, the parachutes open for 7 to 8 minutes navigating until the moment it lands on solid ground.

Our jumps are performed over the extremely beautiful view of the Itaipu Dam, also including the Friendship Bridge (BR|PY), the Triple Frontier, and the Iguaçu Falls.

High Altitude Jumps
The higher altitude jumps provide more excitement, as the free falling lasts longer, ranging from 45 seconds to 1 minute and a half, depending on the altitude of the jump.
The jumps can be performed at an altitude of 12, 16, and 18 thousand feet.

Iguassu Falls-BR

The Park is directed by the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation (ICMBio), a federal organ responsible for managing the Conservation Areas of Brazil. Iguassu is an example of the integration between conservation and the sustainable use of natural resources.

Iguassu National Park was created in 1939 by the Decree N° 1,035. It houses the largest remnant of Atlantic forest (semidecidual stationary) in southern Brazil. The Park protects a rich biodiversity, consisting of representative species of Brazilian fauna and flora, some of which are endangered, like the jaguar (Panthera onca),  the puma (Puma concolor),  the broad snout caiman (Caimanlatirostris), the purple breasted parrot (Amazona vinacea), the harpy eagle (Harpia harpyja), the pink peroba (Aspidospermapolyneutron), the ariticum (Rolliniasalicifolia), the araucaria (Araucariaaugustifolia), and many other species of relevance and scientific interest.

The significant biological variability plus the unique landscape with rare scenic beauty of the Iguassu Falls made the Iguassu National Park the first conservation area in Brazil to be established as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.

Joined by the Iguassu River to the Iguassu National Park in Argentina, the Park includes important biological continuum from Center and South of South America with more than 600,000 hectares of protected areas and another 400 thousand of still primitive forests. It is a unique responsibility of joint actions between Brazilians and Argentines in an effort to preserve this important heritage.

The word Iguassu means “large water” in the Tupi-Guarani etymology. The cascades are formed by the falls of the Iguassu River. Eighteen kilometers before joining the Parana River, the Iguassu River gains altitude and then plunges 80 meters down. It can reach up to 2,780 meters wide. Its geographical formation dates from about 150 millions years, but the formation of the waterfall’s geographic characteristics began approximately 200,000 years ago.

The Iguassu River measures 1,200 meters in width above the falls. Below, it narrows into a 65 meter channel. The total width of the waterfall in the Brazilian territory is approximately 800 meters and 1,900 in the Argentinean side. The height of the falls varies between 40 to 80 meters, depending on the river flow. The number of falls varies, reaching a little over one hundred during periods of average flow.

The average flow of the river is about 1,500 m³ per second, ranging from 500 m³/s in times of drought and 8,500 m³/s in times of flood. The largest volume of water occurs between the months of October and March.

There are 19 main falls. Five of them are on the Brazilian side (Floriano, Deodoro, Benjamin Constant, Santa Maria and União). The rest are on the Argentinean side. Since most of the falls are on the Argentinean side and facing Brazil, the best views are for those who observe the scene from the Brazilian side.

Tri-Border Landmark-Brasil

The Brazilian landmark includes a panoramic form of the other two points, with a fantastic setting of the sun.

The obelisk is a tourist spot that symbolically marks the tri-border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay with their respective national colors. Each of the three obelisks represents the sovereignty of the three nations. They are located on the banks of the Iguassu and the Parana River.

The landmark is located in the Brazilian city of Foz do Iguassu. It was inaugurated on July 20, 1903, along with the Argentine landmark, located at the city of Puerto Iguazu, and the Paraguayan landmark in President Franco. The founding stone “Cabeza de Vaca Memorial” is also located there. It honors the discoverer of the falls, Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca, who was the first European to reach the falls in 1542.

The landmark is intended to represent equality and respect between the three nations. In this context, the three obelisks form an equilateral triangle.

The Brazilian landmark includes a panoramic form of the other two points, with a fantastic setting of the sun shared by all three countries. To complete picture, we still have the strength of the rivers that cut through the three countries.

The Tri-Border Landmark structure includes a parking lot, coffee shop, craft shop and a viewpoint. It is six kilometers from downtown Foz do Iguassu.

The Landmark was established as one of the main sights of Foz  do Iguassu and its importance symbolizes the meeting of three Latin brother countries with different languages but having the meeting of the waters of the rivers in common.

The Bird Park-Brazil

The Parque das Aves is an essential tour for visitors of Foz do Iguassu, located near the Cataratas do Iguassu, beside the Iguassu National Park. In the Parque das Aves you will experience a direct contact with more than 1020 birds from about 150 different species. There are 16.5 hectares of lush Atlantic Rainforest maintained to provide the best habitat for our animals.

This is a tour like no other. It is an unique and unforgettable experience in which you will find amazing birds from all four corners of Brazil and from various parts of the world, many of them endangered. Enter our immersion aviaries to feel the beat of wings from vibrant macaws and look into the eyes of a toucan.

There is plenty to feel and enjoy – beauty is everywhere and that is what motivates us every day to work for the preservation of our fauna and flora. We take into our care birds that are no longer in condition to continue living in nature and keep them in an environment where they can live happily.

You are an essential part of this project. All you need to do to help preserve it is to enter into the experience with all your senses.
